Taking contemporary locative media as its departure point, this course investigates site-specificity as it relates to new media art by endeavoring to create computational artifacts that embody a deep engagement with particular sites. Along the way, we will confront two questions
- What do we mean by âsiteâ anyway (in an age of networked communications and virtual/augmented spaces)?
- How does one create digital installations/interventions that are geographically and/or contextually bounded? (And, why would we want to?)
